With our small starter pack, you are up and running with hydroponic cultivation quickly, easily and cheaply.
At half the price of e.g. a Harvey you are running and growing Hydroponically. Complete with used cans and your own plastic boxes, e.g. Kugggis from Ikea, you have a complete cultivation system with a nursery, growth box and nice jars to put in the kitchen window to harvest from.
The package includes:
- Small nursery (40 plants)
- 1 pc 32 mm hole saw
- 1 drill template for Ikea gear (delivered digitally)
- 20 32 mm mesh baskets
- 20 pcs 32 mm culture sponges
- 6 lids for cans (3 pcs for 73 mm and 3 pcs for 99 mm)
Start by removing the number of seed cubes you are going to use, rinse through and soak the sponge thoroughly. Peel one or more seeds in each seed cube and place in the nursery, fill with water so it reaches over the grate. Feel free to put some plastic over it so it does not dry out so quickly.
When the plants have taken root, which is about 3-4 cm, take the cubes apart and squeeze the seed cube into a sponge and place in a net pot. It is important that the roots hang down through the net pot. Now you put your plant in the growth box. The water level should be just below the bottom of the net basket. This is where the plant grows. Now it needs a lot of light and extra nutrition in the water.
When it's time to start harvesting, you can move over the plant in a nice tin jar where you sat on one of the lids in which you drilled holes. Place the plant in the kitchen window and enjoy. Do not forget to water with nutrient water.
