Description

Powder for calibration bag: With buffer powder you can easily create the calibration fluid for a pH meter.

Easy to mix: You add the calibration powder to a container with 250 ml of distilled water that has a temperature of 25 degrees to obtain the correct buffer solution. If the liquid has a different temperature, you can read the pH on the bag.

Things to consider: You should label the container with the pH powder. The container should also be kept out of reach of children.

To ensure accuracy, please note:

1. The entire bag should be used when pouring into the water.

2. Use distilled water.

3. 250 ml refers to when the water is 25 degrees warm

Specifications:

Contains:

  • 1 Green bag - pH 6.86 buffer powder
  • 1 Red bag - pH 4.0 buffer powder

Weight: 15g

Size: 7.5 x 6.5 x 0.1 cm

Instruction:

How to store and use pH buffer solutions to calibrate pH

Calibrating a pH meter is an important process to ensure that it provides accurate pH measurements. To calibrate your pH meter, you will need a calibration fluid.

Mix to desired liquid according to instructions on bag. Store liquid in a glass container in a cool, dark place.

Be sure to label the packaging.

When calibrating a pH controller, it is best to calibrate pH6.86 first and then calibrate pH4 or pH9.18. Typically if you are working in the acidic range (i.e. < pH6.86) you will calibrate with pH6.86 and then pH4. Conversely if you are working in the basic range (i.e. > pH6.86) you will calibrate with pH6.86 and then pH9.18.

When calibrating with different buffer solutions, be very careful not to contaminate the liquids. Therefore, it is recommended to pour small amounts of calibration fluid into separate cups and discard the contents of the cups when finished. NEVER pour used solution back into the original bottle.

A recommended procedure for calibration is as follows (assuming you calibrate with pH6.86 and then pH4):

  • Rinse the probe with distilled water (or pH6.86 liquid) and dry with paper towels.
  • Pour a small amount of pH6.86 liquid into a separate cup.
  • Insert the pH probe into the cup, wait for the reading to stabilize and calibrate the zero point (i.e. pH6.86)
  • Rinse the probe with distilled water (or pH4 fluid) and dry with paper towels.
  • Pour a small amount of pH4 liquid into a new separate cup.
  • Insert the pH probe into the cup, wait for the reading to stabilize, and calibrate the tilt point (i.e. pH4)

If you do not have distilled or deionized water readily available for rinsing probes, you can use clean tap water.
