When they have proper roots, you replant and put in your container where they can grow. This way you can have lots of new plants going in the small stages as they grow slowly and take up little space and not take up space in your larger containers for this growing period.
It is easy to pull apart and divide the carpet into several parts. Do you have e.g. 12 Lettuce Grow Spots, plant 4 seeds a week. after 3 weeks it's time to move to a basket and put on your growing site then you can harvest 3 heads of lettuce per week and always have new ones coming. That way you always have new plants on the go.
